ACRLI in Collaboration with La Sagesse University-Faculty of Law- Organized a Seminar on Constitutional Justice and the Rule of Law (Reform Approach in light of the Arab Changes), which was held on 16 June, 2011, at La Sagesse University, Beirut, Lebanon.
The Seminar included members of the Lebanese Constitutional Council, a number of judges, representatives of the Bar Associations in Beirut and Tripoli, the Head of Press syndicate, representatives of the Security Sector, in addition to a large number of lawyers and specialists in law, academics and students from various Lebanese universities.
Several speeches were presented during the Seminar from the Dean of the Faculty of Law at La Sagesse University, Dr. Maroun BOUSTANY, as well as from ACRLI’s Founder and General Supervisor Dr. Wassim HARB. The head of the Lebanese Constitutional Council Dr. Issam SLEIMAN concluded with a speech where he highlighted the mishaps that were revealed through the experience of the Lebanese constitutional council in relation to the rule of Law, proposing a roadmap for reform in order to achieve a concrete Constitutional Justice. Dr. SLEIMAN finally insisted that the suggested reform actions shall be seriously looked at and abided by in order to pull off a clear road to constitutional justice recovery.
