A delegation from the Arab Center for the Development of the Rule of Law and Integrity (ACRLI), composed of Dr. Wassim Harb, Dr. Abdul Hussein Shaaban and Mr. Roger Khoury, has visited Baghdad where they held a series of meetings with a number of Iraqi officials, including Head of the High Judicial Council and the Supreme Federal Court. In this occasion, ACRLI’s delegation was honored by the High Judicial Council for the previous development projects they had implemented mainly (the Iraqi legislations Database, the capacity building of the Iraqi judges, the renovation of the Iraqi judicial Institute, etc …). ACRLI’s delegation has met with the Iraqi Minister of Interior, where they discussed the methods on how to tackle terrorism and enhance the capabilities of the Iraqi security forces with respect to human rights. ACRLI’s delegation has also met with the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP-Iraq), by which the meeting was focused on how to apply the principles of good governance in the Iraqi administration, and what ACRLI can present to Iraq in the upcoming phase. In addition, ACRLI has participated in the conference organized by the United Nations Development Programme in Iraq, on the development of the inspectors general offices in Iraq, where Dr. Shaaban lectured on the good governance in building the modern Iraqi administration service, whereas Dr. Harb presented the study he had prepared on the requirements for the development of the inspectors general offices in Iraq, which was met with the approval of the participants in the conference.
