ACRLI and HiiL organized a national workshop to discuss the "Rule of Law Report" in Tunisia (Tunisia, 03 April 2012)

In the context of the "Country Reports on the Rule of Law" project, ACRLI and the Hague Institute for the Internationalization of Law (HiiL) organized a national workshop to discuss the "Rule of Law Report" in Tunisia on the 03rd of April 2012.

This National Workshop aimed at (1) presenting and opening for discussion the draft quick scan report which discusses the Rule of Law status in Tunisia and (2) validating its findings since the proceedings of the workshops will be used to feed the finalization of the quick scan report. The purpose of this report is to present a brief, neutral and constructive overview of the state of the rule of law in the concerned country, focusing on 4-5 positive trends as well as 4-5 points of concern.

The report is based on qualitative and quantitative materials, and it is supposed to be a tool in the hands of national and international actors for designing rule of law reforms in the aftermath of the Arab Spring.

The participants in the workshop came from various disciplines and included legal, private sector, media, NGOs, political parties, academics and donor organizations representatives.
